Acquisition Virtual Shopify Meetup Event

All things acquisition

We were super keen to host another Virtual Shopify Meetup to help first time and well established business owners elevate their online store and grow their revenue. Our focus for this one, hosted on the 26th of May 2021 was acquisition and driving customers to your ecommerce store. We had an exceptional lineup of all-female experts sharing their expertise on different platforms and how to leverage these platforms and sales channels to increase acquisition.

Jill Parker — Shopify Plus

Our first speaker was Merchant Success Manager at Shopify Plus, Jill Parker. Jill is responsible for the division of Shopify focused on the world’s largest and fastest-growing brands including AllBirds, Fashion Nova, JB Hi-FI, Frank Body, and thousands more. Jill works closely with merchants to help scale their business utilising Shopify Plus features with a strong focus on strategic growth strategies - particularly in the areas of acquisition, conversion, and retention.

During her insightful session of our virtual Shopify meetup, Jill discussed key acquisition trends and highlighted social channels that are on the rise for acquiring new customers on the Shopify platform, such as TikTok and Pinterest. She also answered the pertinent question everyone has been asking about... what is the IOS 14 privacy update and how does it affect current and potential customers?

Jill has also kindly provided the following resources if you're interested in learning more:

Aleksandra Wocial — Google

Next, we were excited to welcome Google Strategic Partner, Aleksandra Wocial, to the digital stage. Aleks is a multilingual business professional with international experience in tech, digital marketing and partnerships with 6+ years experience working at Google. Passionate about tech, product development and marketing, and excited about shaping the future of successful tech and business partnerships across multiple regions and industries, Aleks has been leading the eCommerce partnerships in the Google Channel Sales AUNZ team.

With Google being one of the lead channels for acquisition; Aleks discussed Google Shopping solutions and how Google can help you acquire new clients and grow your sales. She explained how Google and Shopify made this process easy by creating a Google Channel app that helps Shopify users seamlessly launch a Google Shopping campaign on the Shopify platform. We were also treated with a bonus success story, check it out to see which small business Google helped to grow into a very successful ecommerce business.

Jess Vassalo — Evocative Media

Our third expert to speak was marketing guru, and long-term partner with Process Creative, Jess Vassalo, Founder and Head of Growth at Evocative Media. Evocative Media is an ecommerce growth marketing agency based in Sydney, Australia. Jess and her team have successfully generated more than $46 million in revenue for their e-commerce clients through Facebook Advertising and Email Marketing in the past year. Since 2014, Jess has been pioneering positive change in digital marketing, by focusing on holistic, data-led strategies and advocating for more transparency in the industry.

3800% is the reported ROI of email marketing. For every $1 spend brands receive $38 in return.

Jess Vassalo

Jess focused her acquisition topic on email marketing, one of the leading marketing touch points to drive customers to convert. She shared insights into acquiring and growing an email database and thereafter leveraging this to boost sales & revenue. As an added tip, Jess uncovered the best tools and platforms to use to achieve the best results through email marketing.

Sabrina Jacquier - Parr — Keeko

Last, but certainly not least, we heard from Merchant Success partner, Keeko's own, Sabrina Jacquier - Parr. Sabrina is the founder and head of holistic oral wellness brand, Keeko. Sabrina started Keeko as a result of her own experience with poor health and a case of bleeding gums. After years of struggling, she turned to an Ayurvedic dental routine, which performed the miracle she had been hoping for. But one thing was still bothering her, the toxic dental category. So she set out to create a product range that is safe, natural and effective, and built a successful ecommerce business on these grounds.

Sabrina shared her background and brand story with us and identified some key practices responsible for her success. We, here at Process Creative are thrilled to have partnered with Sabrina in transforming her online experience for Keeko and to share the experience of her growth with her.
