Shopify Summer 2023 Editions!

Subscriptions Feature
This is the first time Shopfiy has accommodated Subscriptions natively without using an external third-party app. This will be great for merchants to test the waters with subscriptions to drive recurring revenue. The benefits are obviously not having to add another third party app to your tech stack and having subscriptions capabilities displayed natively within the Shopify admin panel. You won't have to integrate another third party-app into your tech stack, and the subscription features will be seamlessly integrated within the Shopify admin panel. Customers will be able to pause and skip subscriptions right out of the box.

However, we feel that third-party subscriptions apps like Recharge, Yotpo and Submarine will still have an important role to play for more merchants with more advanced subscription requirements.

Bundles Bundles Bundles
The new Shopify Bundles app is great for fixed bundles and multipacks. It’s early days for this functionality but really great that this functionality is included natively. It’s one of our most often requested features from clients as it’s a great way to maximise AOV.

Once again, however for merchants requiring more flexibility & advanced functionality, we would still recommend a third-party app or building a custom sultion.

Speed!
This is an exciting one, the platform has undergone some changes to optimise performance & now can boast a 30% faster load time attributed to improvements in Time To First Byte (TTFB) and consolidated hosting facilitated through Shopify's CDN.

Theme sections are now capable of being lazy loaded, while static content is efficiently delivered from the same host. Additionally, the incorporation of Liquid compilation ahead of time also contributes to the overall speed and efficiency of Shopify stores.

And That's Not All: The Rest of the Updates
While these are some of the highlights, Shopify's Editions brings a multitude of updates (over 100) across the board. From POS improvements and subscription handling to enhanced checkout options, API updates, and more, there's something for everyone.
